Accommodations

ADVENTURE CAMPING UNDER HUGE AFRICAN SKIES

Sleeping in a tent with only a thin canvas wall separating you from nature is an unforgettable experience. Lying on a comfortable mattress, you will feel grounded to the unsensed rhythm of the turning earth.

In the morning, look up at the canvas roof and see the silhouette of tree leaves swaying in the breeze. You’ll hear every insect, bird, and animal, from the alarm call of a fleeing group of Guinea Fowl to the distant chirp of a Cheetah.

Your accommodation is a 2-person dome tent (2.5m x 2.5m and 1.8m high | 8.2 feet x 8.2 feet and 5.9 feet high), with built-in mosquito nets at the entrances and windows.

Comfortable 5 cm thick sleeping mattresses and robust, high-quality camping equipment such as tables, safari chairs, functional cutlery and crockery are provided.

You overnight on public campsites with shared ablution facilities provided by the national park authorities.

What to expect on a camping safari in Tanzania?

Adventure Camping is an experiential opportunity to spend every hour of the day in nature without distractions from the modern world. It is a chance to appreciate the simplicity of life.

You will stay in public campsites inside the park or on the park’s boundary. The park campsites are mostly unfenced, and it is not unlikely that you may find elephants wandering between the tents or bump into antelopes on your way to the shower.

In the ablution blocks, you will find flushing toilets and showers with cold water to cool yourself off from the afternoon heat.

Our Adventure Camping team includes a guide, a safari cook, and an assistant. They will go the extra mile so that you have a great safari.

The camp and food will be set up and prepared for you to relax and enjoy your holiday. Our cooks will prepare all three daily meals, from early morning eggs and sausages, coffee, and bread, to a packed picnic lunch, snacks, and delicious dinners with stews and salads.

During the day, you will discover that our expert guides are not only passionate about nature, but they are also highly knowledgeable. Additionally, one of their greatest skills is enabling every group member to get the most out of the safari.

On private adventure camping safaris, you can choose where to go and what to see. If you provide one of our travel experts with your bucket list, they will be happy to help you plan every detail of your dream safari.

What will you see and do on a camping safari in Tanzania

Adventure Camping is an experiential safari.

Sitting by the crackling fire, deep discussions are shared, bonding your relationships. The roar of a lion in the distance seems closer than it actually is. As you lean back to gaze at the dark sky, free from light pollution, thousands of stars sparkle above.

This unforgettable moment gives you an insight into the grandeur of the universe. Thankfully, there are numerous Tanzania parks to experience this sensation.

The Northern Circuit

Tarangire National Park is known for its baobab trees and winding river, which attracts a wide variety of wildlife during the dry season. You’ll have the chance to see predators and prey alike, including one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations.

At the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll find the world’s largest caldera, home to an array of wildlife. There is a good chance that you’ll get to see the Big Five while you’re here, and the landscape itself is stunning, with forests, lakes, and savannahs to explore. A true highlight on a Tanzania camping safari.

The Serengeti National Park is a remarkable park and home to the annual wildebeest migration. The wide-open savannahs with islands of rocky Kopjes are so vast in size that it could take a lifetime to explore this beautiful park fully. Best of all, visitors can enjoy world-class game-watching throughout the year.
