What Makes Lake Manyara Unmissable
Lake Manyara punches well above its size. It's famous for tree-climbing lions — a behaviour rarely seen anywhere else. The park covers groundwater forest, open savanna, and the alkaline lake itself, which turns pink with flamingos in the right season. The views from the Rift Valley escarpment above the park are among the most dramatic in East Africa.

Best Time to Visit
July through October is peak dry season — animals concentrate and the lake is at its most photogenic. November through March is flamingo season when the lake turns pink. The park is good year-round but less visited than the Serengeti, making it an excellent first or last stop on the Northern Circuit.
